I am exhibiting the work ‘Non c’è confine #04, 2023, mixed media on an antique embroidered towel, 160 x 60 cm’

The body is our story, woven from the crystallised threads of our emotional memories. Like an antique fabric, whose weave is part of the daily life of those who have worn it, an extension of their skin that endures over time. In this context, the antique towel becomes a fabric woven from human history, which takes shape through the coloured threads emerging from the fabric to symbolically depict a body breaking free, visible, frayed by the pain of existence, yet finding the strength to live in the very acceptance of that pain. – Alice Voglino
