Alice Voglino al festival “Dal femminile al plurale”

Alice Voglino among the artists invited to the festival ‘Dal femminile al plurale’ from 8 to 11 March 2025 at Villa Bagatti Valsecchi, Varedo (MB)

The artist Alice Voglino has been invited to present a selection of works from her research Non c’è confine (There is no boundary) at the festival of reading, sculpture, painting and music about women and women’s issues ‘Dal femminile al plurale’ (From the feminine to the plural) taking place in Varedo (MB) from 8 to 11 March in the setting of the 19th-century Villa Bagatti Valsecchi.

Non c’è confine (There is no border) is the artist’s recent research into the meaning of identity related to memory, using the trousseaux of the great-great-grandmothers that she painted and then embroidered to form signs like scars that become cascades of coloured threads capable of transfiguring the meaning of the pain experienced.

Organised by the Fondazione La Versiera 1718 and curated by its president Elena Riva and Ilaria Centola, director of Milano Scultura, with Manuel Zoia, director of the homonymous Milan gallery, the festival ‘Dal femminile al plurale’ offers itself as a space and moment in which women become the protagonists of new narratives through words, music and art.

Accompanying the schedule of lectures and appointments is the exhibition ‘Dal femminile al plurale’ (From the feminine to the plural), curated by Ilaria Centola and Manuel Zoia, with the technical collaboration of Loris Innocenti, which brings together the pictorial and sculptural works of twenty-six artists who explore the dimension of the feminine in all its complexity to render a multifaceted and constantly evolving image of women.
