Fragilità (fragility)
Finalist VII G.A.eM. – IX Biennale Mosaico Contemporaneo Ravenna and Fondazione Cingoli
We are becoming different people every day without feeling capable enough to experience life to the fullest.

Through my research project, Fragility, I attempted to explore the fragility of the human condition.
Using crochet and embroidery, I embraced the imperfections resulting from my inexperience as part of the creative process. Drawing inspiration from traditional crafts associated with femininity, which historically limited women’s autonomy, I aimed to demonstrate our ability to shape our lives one step at a time.
This research is like a mosaic, composed of:
– four canvases woven in crocheted cotton, painted and embroidered with inscriptions: Life is transformation (La vita è trasformazione, 2024, crocheted cotton and embroidery threads, 74×30 cm); Desire Dream Create (Desiderare Sognare Creare, 2024, crocheted cotton, embroidery threads, acrylic colours, 112×40 cm); We are capable of love (Siamo capaci di amore, 2024, crocheted cotton, embroidery threads, acrylic paints, 104×53 cm); Deep breath (Respiro profondo, 2025, crocheted cotton and embroidery threads, 95×48 cm).
– one assemblage of sewn, painted and embroidered antique napkins, arranged in an octagonal shape reminiscent of a baptismal font, a symbol of rebirth, bearing the inscription Believe in you (Credi in te, 2025, antique napkins, embroidery threads, acrylic paints, 80×58 cm);
– twenty canvases (24 x 18 cm each), painted in acrylic colours on a black background, to depict the potential energy of existence encountered daily on our path.
