“With this research,” says Alice Voglino, “I have tried to explore the fragility of the human condition, a subject that is very close to my heart. Every day, each of us experiences the fragility of existence as we face a constantly changing world that forces us to adapt constantly, making us different day after day, without, however, making us feel sufficiently capable.”

To create the works, the artist specifically learned how to crochet and embroider, allowing the imperfections of her inexperience to be part of the process, as well as drawing inspiration from traditional women’s work, a combination of tradition, creativity, and knowledge, but also gender exclusion and social and economic marginalization.
